Cardiff Reunion
26 02 2008When we travel we are always reminded of what a small world it can be. We shared a tuk-tuk to the waterfalls yesterday with a guy from Evergreen, Colorado, and a couple that had been at Cardiff University the same time I was doing my study abroad there! Later that night we met up with three other English girls, 2 of whom had also been at Cardiff the same time I was there and one even lived in the same complex I did! Small world.
We had a wonderful time at the waterfalls. It is a picture perfect place with aqua colored swimming holes among dense green forest. Beautiful. We first hiked up to the top which was quite treacherous in flip-flops. When we got back down, we were grateful for a swim. The water was freezing though! Definitely refreshing. There are 3 designated swimming holes, but Steve found an in-between one with no one there, so we had it all to ourselves! While having lunch at a restaurant outside the park, we watched a tiny little puppy playing with a giant rooster, only the rooster didn’t think it was a game and probably would have taught the little, growling, tail-wagging puppy a lesson if the waitress hadn’t stepped in!
Unfortunately, while we were out yesterday, I must have brushed up against something I am allergic too because I woke up with a rash all over my arms, back, neck and chest this morning! It seems to have mostly cleared up already though, so I’m not worried
Sounds like you are ready for the polar plunge after your swim
Love,
Erin
Erin–you are so brave! At least we had sunshine to warm us up once we got out of the water. I saw your recent pictures–Brrr!!!!
